The history of blue jeans took a major turn when Levi Strauss together with a Nevada tailor created a major innovation and patented the putting of rivets at stress points to meet the market’s demand for tougher work clothes during the California gold rush. He chose the stronger denim fabric and cotton duck, and branded it under his own name. Duck fabric was later phased out as denim was more comfortable especially after a few washes
